Second Trading Day After Dashain, NEPSE Takes a Double-Digit Beating, Index Down 69.51 Points to 2,587.45

The NEPSE index closed at 2,587.45 today after losing 69.51 points from yesterday's closing. The index had gained 17.59 points yesterday.

The index opened at 2,656.03 and did not trade anywhere lower than that. While it went as low as 2,582.70, it ultimately closed at 2,587.45.

A total of 8,776,337 shares exchanged hands amounting to only Rs. 2.96 Arba in the turnover amount. This is still higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 1.41 Arba. 218 scrips traded hands via 40,401 transactions.

Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 9.89 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,468 per share. The units of Global IME Samunnat Scheme 1 (GIMES1) traded the most.

11% NIC Asia Debenture 2082/83 (NICAD8283) gained the most 2%. Meanwhile, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL) lost the most 10%, thereby hitting the negative circuit breaker.

Only Trading gained a minimal 0.63% today. Of all other sectors that lost, Finance lost the most 4.26%.
