SEBON Opens Application for New Stock Exchange Operations; What Are the Conditions?

To operate a second securities market with private sector investment, to enter the securities market for organized organizations in the real sector of the economy, and to protect the interests of investors who invest in securities by making it more competitive, efficient, investor-friendly, and capable with international level technology, SEBON has authorized a second securities market formulation.

Given that it is necessary to increase the accessibility of regular investors to the securities market through competition, development, and expansion in the service and quality of the securities market, a limited liability organization has been established in accordance with the applicable laws for the purpose of operating the securities market subject to the Securities Act, 2063.

SEBON has made this announcement public for the benefit of anyone considering applying.

  • The entity that is qualified to operate the securities market is instructed in the notification to submit an application to the board within 45 days.
  • When submitting an application, if the day falls on a public holiday, it may also be filed the following day during regular business hours.
  • The Securities Act, 2063, the Securities Market Operation Regulations, 2064, and the guidelines for providing recommendations from the board to establish an organized organization for the operation of the securities market, 2079 should all be referenced in the application, along with the applicant's name and address, addressed to the Nepal Securities Board. A thorough business plan must be enclosed with the application when submitting it.
  • Applications that are not properly submitted, are submitted after the deadline has passed, or are submitted with conditions won't be considered for consideration.
  • The board will reserve the right to approve or reject any or all applications submitted through the notification.
