SEBON licences 5 institutions to function as fund managers for Specialized Investment Fund; directs these fund managers to set up necessary infrastructure

Securities Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has provided a nod to five institutions to function as a fund manager for the proposed Specialized Investment Fund and has directed these institutions to start setting up the necessary infrastructure for the fund.

The board has instructed Global Equity Fund Pvt. Ltd, Laxmi Capital Market Ltd, NIBL Ace Capital Ltd, NIC ASIA Capital Ltd. And NMB Capital Ltd. Out of the total 9 applicants.

After the introduction of the SIF, innovative funds like private equity and venture capital will be available in the Nepalese investment scene which will be beneficial for the overall business sector of the nation, as per the media statement from SEBON.
