SEBON enforces IT regulations 2076; aims to utilize available technology for broader good of Nepalese securities market

Securities Board of Nepal has endorsed and implemented the all-new IT regulation to regulate the new online based stock and commodity trading in Nepal. The new regulation as per the spirit of SEBON’s policies and programs 2076-77 has come into enforcement from the first of Shrawan, 2076.

The board has introduced this regulation to facilitate in further development and enhancement of IT in security and commodity market of Nepal, to utilize the available IT in market regulation, to make the available IT service more reliable, secure and affordable to be used in Nepalese stock market, etc.

The board also aims to begin operation of high-tech Disaster Recovery Center in order to maintain and back-up the data regarding transaction, clearance and central depository warehouse system.

The board has also formed a five member committee led by its Deputy ED in order to monitor and inspect the proper implementation of the regulation. The board has aimed that the successful implementation of the regulation will help in successful utilization of IT for larger good of the securities market of the nation, as per the media statement.
