Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has stated while unveiling the Securities and Market Policies and Programs for FY 2075/76 that Permanent Account Number (PAN) will be made a compulsory requirement for trading in the secondary market.
In order to implement the decision, the board has decided to encourage the use of PAN for the purchase and sell of shares in the secondary market.

The board is highly optimistic about the use of PAN for trading in the secondary market as it is supposed to bring development and transparency in the secondary market. SEBON has also prepared to bring necessary policies in order to implement the use of PAN.
Along with it, SEBON has also planned to make the restructuring of NEPSE and CDS easier, to enable the automated buy-sell order in the new transaction system in order to make the transaction in the secondary market clean, transparent and competitive.
The board has also planned to prepare policies to provide factual and authentic information to the current as well as future investors in order to enhance the overall development of the stock market.
