Securities Exchange Board of Nepal has amended the Specialized Investment Fund Bylaws 2075 and implemented its first amendment from Shrawan 1, 2077.

As per the new amendment, the regulator has now allowed the concerned institutions to bring foreign investment for the SIF and to expand the scope of the Private Equity Fund and Venture Capital Fund thereby including debt instrument in its scope.

As per the statement, any fund or fund managers that are registered under international law can start operating in Nepal either with a complete or majority stake by following due laws and procedures of Nepal.

The board hopes that the latest amendment will help in bringing the much-needed foreign expertise in the secondary market of Nepal, as further stated in the statement.
