Sanima Bank Limited has signed an agreement with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) to become a principal member of the NPS–National Card Switch and the NEPALPAY Card scheme. With this partnership, Sanima Bank will be able to issue and accept NEPALPAY cards for its customers after completing its system integration with NPS-NCS.

NEPALPAY is Nepal’s national domestic card scheme, launched by NCHL under the National Payment Switch, with global acceptance through collaboration with the international Discover® Network.

The scheme enables domestic and international card interoperability, allowing NEPALPAY cards to be used at POS and ATM terminals in Nepal and abroad.

With over 33 BFIs already enrolled and 12 in live operation, the initiative aims to strengthen Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem, reduce transaction costs, ensure data localization, and promote innovation. Sanima Bank, currently operating through 106 branches, 28 extension counters, and 127 ATMs, has recently implemented its own card switch to further enhance digital banking services.
