Sana Kisan Bikas Laghubitta Completes 25 Years of Service

Sana Kisan Bikas Laghubitta Sanstha Limited is celebrating its 25th anniversary, having expanded across all 77 districts of Nepal since its establishment in 2058 BS.

The institution has grown to work with 1,485 partner cooperatives across more than 546 local levels nationwide , providing microfinance services to nearly 10 lakh families, with qomen make up 82 percent of its beneficiaries, alongside 39 percent Janajati and 11 percent Dalit participation.

Over the past 15 years, the institution has run concessional livestock loan programs, and vegetable farming loans for the last six years, with government support. These programs have helped farmers raise over 17.79 lakhs livestock and cultivate vegetables across more than 11,000 bighas of land, generating an estimated Rs 4.8 arba annually over Rs 72 arba in total in meat, dairy, and vegetable production. Since fiscal year 2077/78, the institution has also run concessional credit programs for production and employment with support from the Bagmati Province Government.

With support from the Asian Development Bank, the institution has also run a Rural Enterprise Project benefiting youth and small farmers, helping establish 2,800 enterprises with over Rs 6.17 arba in investment and creating employment for 10,737 people.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and technology-driven growth to further strengthen Nepal's rural economy.
