Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Sanjeevani Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited have officially begun the process to merge into a single entity.
The two financial institutions signed a preliminary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 3 (Shrawan 18) to formalize their agreement to combine operations. Following the signing, Samudayik Laghubitta submitted an official notification letter to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) to inform the market regulator about the decision.
According to the company, the merger is being carried out under the Bank and Financial Institutions Merger and Acquisition Guidelines (2079) set by Nepal Rastra Bank, the country's central monetary authority.
To ensure a fair transition during the ongoing procedure, Samudayik Laghubitta has requested NEPSE to freeze the stock trading of its major shareholders. This suspension on share transactions will remain in effect until the merger is fully finalized and approved during the upcoming annual general meetings of both organizations.
