Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SAMAJ) has proposed a 15% dividend worth Rs. 30 lakhs for the fiscal year 2078/79.
The meeting of the board of directors held on Ashad 05 has decided to distribute a 15% dividend for the fiscal year 2078/79. 14.25% bonus shares and a 0.75% cash dividend have been proposed from the paid-up capital of Rs. 2 Crores. Thus, the bonus shares are worth Rs. 28.50 lakhs, and the cash dividends are worth Rs 1.5 lakhs.
Note that this dividend will be distributed only after approval from Nepal Rastra Bank and endorsement by the company's upcoming AGM.
The company's trading is on hold since 2020 when Samaj Laghubitta and Swastik Laghubitta signed a merger agreement, aiming to combine their operations and create a stronger entity. However, before the shares could be traded in the secondary market, the agreement was terminated. Samaj Laghubitta's CEO had previously stated that the shares would be traded after obtaining a "de-merge" letter from Nepal Rastra Bank. Unfortunately, even after three years, the company has been unable to obtain the necessary document, indicating its inability to fulfill shareholders' right to information.
