Salt Trading's AGM on April 7 to endorse 25% dividend; book closure on March 21

Salt Trading Corporation Limited has announced its Annual General Meeting on April 7, which, among other things, will duly endorse 10 percent bonus shares and 15 percent cash dividend to the shareholders from the net profit it earned in the last fiscal year 2069/70.

Issuing a notice today, the state-promoted trading corporation, which has been making hefty profits over the years, has also announced the book closure for the AGM from March 21.

The AGM has been scheduled at the Tribhuvan Army's Club in Kathmandu at 11:00 AM on April 7.

The company had distributed 25 per cent dividend to its shareholders from the profit it made in the previous fiscal year, too.

In the previous fiscal year, the corporation had made an impressive profit from the transactions worth Rs 4.31 billion.

Salt Trading Corporation is not just the largest distributor of iodised salt in Nepal but also has a huge market share in sugar, too.

The state-run enterprise has also started been bottling and selling liquefied petroleum gas since the past few years.

Notably Salt Trading Corporation has been distributing one of the highest dividends among all the companies listed in Nepal Stock Exchange, the only share market in the country over the recent years.

In the fiscal year 2067/68, it had distributed 35 per cent dividend.
