Rs 8.5 lakh robbed in front of bank in broad daylight

NAWALPARASI:

One Lekhanath Kharel has been robbed of Rs 850,000 while he was on the way to a bank on Monday afternoon.

Police immediately arrested two persons allegedly involved in the robbery. They have been identified as Dilu Das (18) and Sanju Das (14) from Jalpai district of India.

The suspects broke off the windscreen of Kharel's car (Ba 7 Cha 2028) parked in front of the Rastriya Banijya Bank, Parasi branch and ran away with the money, according to police.

SP Bishnu Hari Gautam said they were riding on an Indian motorbike.

Other two suspects are still at large. Police said they have launched a manhunt in search of the absconding suspects.

However, police recovered Rs 800,000 from the arrested persons. Police are looking into the case.
