Rs.5 million looted from bank in Mahottari

BARDIBAS, JUNE 13:

Five million belonging to the Sahayogi Bikas Bank in Nawarajpur of Gaushala-8, Mahottari has been looted on Wednesday.

The amount was being transported from the Bank's Janakpur Office to the branch office in Gaushala when motorcycle-borne looters intercepted the Bank's vehicle at Nawarajpur and made off with the cash, according to District Police Office, Mahottari.

The incident took place at 3:30 in the afternoon as the jeep (Na. 2 Cha. 2722) with a staff and security guard had reached two kilometers away from Janakpur, Superintendent of Police Pawan Prasad Kharel said.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt for the looters.
