Rotaract Club of Rudramati Supports Students Through “Project Ujjwal Bhavishya” in Baglung

The Rotaract Club of Rudramati conducted “Project Ujjwal Bhavishya,” a school support initiative aimed at supporting students and improving their learning environment at Shree Hugdishir Primary School, Bareng Rural Municipality 02, Baglung.

The program was attended by Bareng Rural Municipality Chairperson Krishna Paudel, the Chairperson of Ward No. 2, representatives and staff from different departments of Bareng Rural Municipality, representatives from the Ilaka Police Office, teachers, parents, and members of the local community. The program was hosted by teacher Indra Bahadur Barma. The Ward No. 2 Chairperson attended as the Chief Guest, while representatives and staff from Bareng Rural Municipality attended as Special Guests.

The program began with welcome remarks from Rtr. Sujan Acharya, followed by the project background and remarks from Rtr. Raju Sharma, President of Rotaract Club of Rudramati.

During his remarks, Sharma highlighted that Project Ujjwal Bhavishya was designed to provide practical support to students who come from financially weak families and to encourage them to continue their education with confidence. He emphasized that providing basic educational materials can help reduce the challenges students face in attending school and participating actively in their studies.

For Sharma, the project carried a particularly personal meaning. He shared that he himself had been a student of Shree Hugdishir Primary School, making his return to the same school as a Rotaractor and project leader a deeply meaningful moment. He recalled his own student journey at the school and expressed his happiness at being able to give something back to the institution that played an important role in his early education.

Speaking about the work of Rotaract, Sharma said that Rotaract Club of Rudramati is a non-profit youth organization focused on community service and leadership development. The club has been actively involved in areas including education, health, environmental protection, climate action, support for children in need, and other community based initiatives. He added that the club believes young people can create meaningful change when they come together with a clear purpose to serve their communities.

As part of the project, students received school uniforms, school shoes, school bags, stationery materials, learning materials, books, and other educational supplies. The stationery package included items such as pens, pencils, notebooks, diaries, sharpeners, erasers and other essential learning materials. Kindergarten and sports-related materials were also provided to support students’ learning and recreational activities.

The project also included support for the school itself. Teacher bags and dustbins were provided, along with materials to support a cleaner and more organized school environment. The initiative was designed not only to support individual students but also to contribute to the overall learning environment of the school.

Sharma expressed his sincere gratitude to Rotary International District 3292 and Rotary Club of Rudramati for their support in making the project possible. He further thanked Bareng Rural Municipality, Ward No. 2, and other municipal staff for their coordination and support in conducting the program.

The event concluded with the distribution of the materials to the students and interaction among the project team, school representatives, local authorities, students, and community members. Through Project Ujjwal Bhavishya, the Rotaract Club of Rudramati aims to encourage students to remain connected with education, build their confidence, and move forward toward a brighter future.

The club has also expressed its commitment to continuing similar initiatives in the future, particularly in areas where small interventions can create meaningful and lasting change in the lives of students and communities.
