Rishi Koirala Suspended as Chairman of Nepal Insurance Surveyors Association

Rishi Koirala has been suspended as Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Surveyors Association following a decision by the association’s executive committee meeting held on Bhadra 27. The association said the decision was taken after receiving written and verbal complaints from members, surveyors, insurance companies and other stakeholders.

It will investigate the complaints, which relate to the association’s governance, compliance with its rules and professional reputation. A three member independent investigation committee led by Secretary Lochan Kendra Devkota has been formed and will submit its report within one month. During the suspension, Koirala cannot act or speak publicly as the association’s chairman or member, while Vice Chairman Bhanu Kandel will handle the association’s daily operations.

The association said the suspension is only a step to ensure a fair investigation and does not mean the allegations have been proven.
