Revenue collection should be boosted, says Fin Min
KATHMANDU, JUL 18 -
Minister for Finance Barshaman Pun has said that the one-third budget brought by the government has helped create environment of trust among political parties.
Issuing directives to top-level officials of Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, the Finance Minister urged them to work with honesty and dutifulness to maintain robust growth rate in revenue collection in the current fiscal year.
During the last fiscal year, revenue collection had grown up by 21 per cent against the previous fiscal year.
Minister Pun also urged the civil servants to work with high morale and responsibly in the new fiscal year.
Minister Pun was of the opinion that economic indexes can further grow in the current fiscal year as all such indexes have shown positive growth in the last fiscal year.
Capital expenditure should be promoted to encourage entrepreneurs and investors and overall economic activities in the country.
Secretary at the Ministry, Krishna Hari Baskota, said that all government secretaries would be invited at the Finance Ministry soon and discussions would be held with the entrepreneurs and umbrella organizations of industrialists over the issue of revenue collection and business facilitation.
