Red Day Once Again, NEPSE Index Loses 14.7 Points and Closes at 2,556.95, Turnover Still Dwindling

The NEPSE index closed at 2,556.95 today after losing 14.7 points from yesterday's closing. The index had gained 60.56 points yesterday.

The index opened at 2,573.05 and created the intraday high at 2,585.21, which looked like a promising start. However, the index was quick to dive to the intraday low of 2,543.11. The rest of the market session was comprised of the continuous tussle between the bulls and the bears, with the index ultimately closing at 2,556.95.

A total of 6,106,452 shares exchanged hands amounting to only Rs. 2.635 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 2.679 Arba. 216 scrips traded hands via 36,762 transactions.

Sanima Bank Limited (SANIMA) had the highest turnover of Rs. 27.12 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 488.80 per share. Its shares also traded the most.

Mero Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MERO) hit the 10% positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited (JOSHI) lost the most 5.87%.

Two sectors gained and all others closed red. "Others" gained the most 1.3%. "Trading" lost the most 2.19%.
