RBB to focus on social banking

KATHMANDU, April 17:
Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) held its annual general meeting for fiscal year 2012/13 on Wednesday, making pledge to focus on social banking.
The meeting chaired by Dr Narahari Dhakal, the chairperson of the bank’s board, unanimously passed the annual report, according to a bank statement.
Sepaking at the program, Chairman Dhakal assured the shareholders that the bank would increase credit deposit ratio and enhance financial inclusiveness. Krishna Prasad Sharma, CEO of the bank, said RBB would extend loans to agricultural and tourism sector. He also said the bank would improve customers service by providing necessary training to its staffers.
The state-owned commerical bank has presence in 65 districts. It operates with a network of 148 branches, 16 extension counters, nine branchless banking locations and 80 ATMs.
