Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) organized a demonstration today in Kathmandu, advocating against the republic system. The party's leaders and cadres convened at Bhrikutimandap before embarking on a march through various parts of the city calling for the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

Unfortunately, the peaceful demonstration turned confrontational, resulting in clashes between RPP protesters and law enforcement authorities. Amidst escalating tensions, the police utilized water cannons and batons to disperse the protesters, who responded by pelting stones.

The situation intensified when police attempted to restrict the movement of RPP cadres into certain areas, leading to further confrontations. Despite initial attempts to control the crowd using water cannons, the persistence of the protesters prompted the police to resort to baton charging.

Led by RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden and operating under the slogan 'Let's change the system to change the situation,' the demonstration aimed to exert pressure for the fulfillment of the party's 40-point demands submitted to the government. These demands encompass the abolition of the republic system, reinstatement of the monarchy, and termination of secularism.
