Rastriya Banijya Bank to provide loan at 1.6% interest for women entrepreneurs; bank to make loan investment upto 80% for drinking water purification device under Tata Foundation

Rastriya Banijya bank has agreed to make credit investment under subsidized loan scheme to promote clean drinking water. The agreement regarding the same was signed between CEO of the bank Mr. Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Chair of South Asian Women Development Forum Ms. Pramila Acharya Rijal and chair of Tata Foundation Mr. H.E. Kuti amid a program that was attended by Minister for Drinking Water Ms. Bina Magar.

Under the agreement, Federation of Women enterpreneurs Association of Nepal, Manusi Microfinance, Federation of Business and Professional Women Nepal, Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries will together work as partner institutions.

Following the agreement, RBB will provide upto 80% loan for women entrepreneurs who choose to start their business by purchasing Rs 15 lakh worth of water purification machine of Tata Foundation. The interest will be charged in a subsidized interest of 1.6%. the pilot project will be operated in Nala and Panauti area of Kavre district.

The MoU signing event was also attended by Deputy CEO of the bank Mr. Kabiraj Adhikari, Deputy Executive Officer Mr. Tekraj Joshi, among others.
