Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited has introduced a special agricultural loan program for each province in Nepal, allowing loans up to five crore rupees based on unique agricultural products from those provinces.
Eligible applicants are Nepalese citizens aged 18 to 65, registered in a firm or company, and involved in agriculture.
The special agricultural products include cardamom in Koshi, fish in Madhesh, poultry in Bagmati, fruits in Gandaki, animal husbandry in Lumbini, herbs in Karnali, and banana farming in Far West Province.
The loans, which adhere to the Agricultural Credit Guidelines, will have a term of 10 years, with the bank covering up to 70% of the net business assets at a premium rate of 0.50% above the base rate.
Collateral can include the agricultural project itself or property such as houses or land. The bank, with 294 branch offices and various banking services nationwide, will provide these loans across all locations.
