Rastriya Banijya Bank extends support to end education inequity in Nepal; provides Rs 10 lakh to education movement of Teach For Nepal

Rastriya Banijya Bank has agreed to provide cash support of Rs 10 lakh to Teach For Nepal for providing stipend to its volunteer teachers who undertake two years teaching fellowship at the rural community schools of Nepal.

The agreement for the same was signed between CEO of the commercial bank Mr. Kiran Kumar Shrestha and CEO of Teach For Nepal Mr. Sishir Khanal amid a program on Mangsir 21, 2075.

Teach For Nepal currently has 110 highly motivated youth educators placed at 51 different community schools of Dang, Lamjung, Dhanusha, Parsha, Lalitpur and Sindhupalchowk where these fellow teachers commit to serve the rural schools for 2 years to improve the educational achievement of rural students.

The event was also attended by Deputy CEOs of the bank Mr. Kabiraj Adhikari and Mr. Sushil Shrestha, Deputy MDs Mr. Keshav Prasad Lamsal, Mr. Tekraj Joshi, Mr. Mahendra Prasad Awasti, heads of different departments and Mr. Prajwal Khadka from Teach For Nepal.

The government owned commercial bank is currently providing banking services from its 208 branches, 165 ATM outlets and 93 branchless banking units at 74 different districts of the nation.
