Propelled by BFIs, Nepse gains 10.49 points today

The Nepse index today gained 10.49 points today to close at 919.88 levels, spurred by buying demands, especially during the last trading hour.  

The index was mainly propelled by the bfi scrips with Kumari Bank Limited and Laxmi Bank Limited announcing impressive dividend to meet the paid-up requirement of Rs 2 arba, and many other bfis and mfis, too, declaring or expected to declare good dividend.

The banking sub-index, which covers around 80 percent of the market capitalization, gained 15.07 percent, the Development Bank group gained 9.95 points and Finance Company sub-index 2.91 points.

Hotels also posted a gain of 4.35 points and Insurance gained 46.13 points

On the other hand, Hydropower group shed 32.88 points and the Others group lost 1.18 points. These were the only two sub-indices to lose today out of a total of seven sub-indices.

The total market turnover stood at Rs 46.62 crore, which is much higher than the turnover of around Rs 26 crore yesterday.
