PROFIT BOOKING DRAGS NEPSE DOWN BY 4.08 POINTS

The stock market of Nepal following profit booking in most of the listed companies witnessed decline of 4.08 points today. The benchmark index settled at 856.52 level.

Following yesterday’s late recovery in banking and others sectors’ shares, the investors today took the opportunity to offload these subgroups’ scrips which attributed to immense selling pressure from beginning of the trade.

In addition, the profit booking of insurance shares also contributed further bearish pressure in today’s market.

By the end of today’s session, the Banking, Others and Insurance suffered loss of 5.48 points, 9.39 points and 24.61 points respectively. Similarly, Development also dropped by 0.18 point.

While, Hydro today made a bounce back of 18.13 points after yesterday’s massive double digit plunge. Likewise, Hotels surged by 16.92 points and Finance added 0.71 point.

All in all, the scrips of 133 companies were traded, out of which 49 scrips gained, 18 remained intact and 66 scrips lost.

The best performer for the day was, Kathmandu Finance Limited. (KFL), closed at Rs 134, with Rs 12 or 9.84% gain. Whereas, yesterday’s top gainer National LifeInsu. Co.Ltd. (NLICL), closed at Rs 2050, was the worst performer today with Rs 175 or 7.87% loss.

While, Chilime Hydro Power Co.(CHCL), which closed at 2205, continued to rule the day as the scrip today also had the highest turnover. Altogether, 22,580 units of shares were traded through 176 transactions worth Rs 48,867,450.

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 45 (Imperial Securities Co .Pvt. Limited) with 8.14 percent totaling 3,704 shares trade amounting Rs 7,961,950 via 23 transactions.

The market turnover today stood at Rs 351,955,803, with total number of shares traded at 1,030,360 units which were traded through 2,417 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 873,708.80 Millions.
