Private Sector Denounces Unfair Treatment of Accused Business Personnel

The private sector has condemned the unjust and unlawful treatment of business personnel accused of illegal activities, suggesting that such circumstances will further discourage the private sector, leading to a negative impact on an already struggling economy.

In a joint press release issued by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), and Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FNCCI) on Sunday, the organizations collectively state, "Anyone accused of involvement in activities considered against the law should be subject to legal proceedings. However, industrialists should not be subjected to inhumane treatment or imprisonment based solely on allegations."

The private sector emphasizes that business persons should not be imprisoned prior to the court's verdict.

The private sector has requested that anyone accused should have the provision of bail, and if the accusations are proven true, further legal proceedings should follow.
