Price regulation policy underway
KATHMANDU,DEC 18:
The Department of Commerce has said that price regulation policy would be carried out within this fiscal year to monitor the market effectively following the unnatural price hike of the commodities in the market.
The policy would include price fixation of the commodities, storage of the foodstuffs, price-list and management of the quality control, among others.
According to the officiating director general of the Department, Shankar Prasad Paudel, the policy has aimed at increasing the productions and easy supply of the essential foodstuffs. Paudel said the policy has stressed for strengthening the legal and administrative aspects to control the excessive price hike of the foodstuffs.
Preparations are underway to send the concept paper to the ministry for re-amendment of the draft paper.
