President Paudel Administers Oath to New Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers

The recently appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, along with the Minister for Forests and Environment Nawal Kishor Shah Sudi, officially took their oath of office and secrecy today before President Ramchandra Paudel.

The President administered the oath during a ceremony at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas. The Council of Ministers was formed by the President, who appointed the Deputy Prime Minister and ministers and assigned portfolios based on the Prime Minister's recommendation, following Article 76 (9) of the Constitution.

The event was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda,' Speaker Devraj Ghimire, former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, and former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal's Chair Yadav had previously served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population in 2075 BS and was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) from the Bara constituency-2 in the April 23, 2023 by-election. Similarly, Shah represents Saptari 1 in the HoR.
