KATHMANDU:

The Airport Passengers Transport Service Management Limited has brought into service 200 luxurious ‘prepaid’ taxis from today.

Passengers can use the taxi service to different places of Kathmandu Valley, surrounding districts and other districts from the international and domestic terminals of Tribhuwan International Airport.

The price for using the prepaid taxi service has been fixed at Rs 75 per kilometre. Two hundred taxis of Ford and Maruti companies have been put into use in the first phase. Around Rs 600 million have been spent to bring prepaid taxis into operation. The company plans to bring 100 more taxis into service in the second phase. The new taxis now replace the ones with green number plates that were in operation.
