Power cuts down to 10 hrs a day from Monday

KATHMANDU, March 10:

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced that load-shedding will be reduced by two hours a day effective from Monday. With the fresh annoucement, there will only be 10 hours of load-shedding a day.

Bhuwan Kumar Chettri, chief of the Systems Operation Department of NEA stated that load shedding will be reduced by two hours as the 144 megawatts Kaligandaki Hydropower Project has resumed electricity supply from Sunday after necessary repairs.

“Besides, rise in the water level in Kulekhani reservoir has also pushed up power generation. We decided to reduce power-cuts to give relief to the SLC students,” said Chettri. The NEA had increased load-shedding to 14 hours a day from January 17.
