During an event commemorating the 7th National ICT Day, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' announced plans to introduce an innovation fund in the upcoming fiscal year's policy, program, and budget. This initiative aims to facilitate the expansion of the information technology (IT) sector in Nepal. PM Dahal emphasized the government's commitment to fostering economic and social transformation through the development, expansion, and utilization of communication and IT infrastructure.

PM Dahal highlighted the importance of empowering young scientists to generate income through IT and access technology resources independently. He also underscored the government's dedication to integrating and effectively implementing the Startup Programme, with a particular focus on youth engagement. Stressing the pivotal role of information technology in achieving prosperity, PM Dahal urged stakeholders to prioritize rapid development in the field for the economic and social upliftment of the populace.

Moreover, PM Dahal reiterated the government's pledge to enact necessary policies and legal frameworks to support the safe and sustainable development of information technology. He addressed concerns regarding the recent surge in cybercrime incidents, assuring the public that the government is taking proactive measures to address these challenges through appropriate legal and policy interventions.
