PM Oli Holds Bilateral Talks with Lao PDR President at SCO 2025

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a bilateral meeting with Lao People's Democratic Republic President Thongloun Sisoulith this morning on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 in Tianjin, China. The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening cooperation in trade, tourism, education, and regional connectivity.
PM Oli was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including former Deputy Prime Minister and Member of the House of Representatives (HOR) Purna Bahadur Khadka, Education Minister Raghuji Panta, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Tourism Minister Badri Prasad Pandey, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.
Later today, PM Oli and other heads of state are scheduled to address the SCO summit at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention Centre. This year’s SCO Summit is particularly significant as it focuses on deepening collaboration among member states in the face of global challenges such as climate change, economic recovery, digital transformation, and geopolitical tensions.
