Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki, newly appointed amidst growing demands from the Gen Z protest movement, expanded her cabinet on Sunday by inducting three new ministers. Following her recommendation to dissolve parliament in response to sustained protests led by Gen Z protesters all ministers are chosen for their professional expertise rather than political affiliation.

Advocate Om Prakash Aryal has been given charge of both the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Law, former Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising will lead the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation  and Rameshwor Khanal, former Finance Secretary, has been appointed Minister for Finance.

The appointments have sparked cautious optimism across the country, especially among youth movements and civil society groups advocating for structural reform and transparency in government.
