Petroleum Exploration to Commence in Palpa, Sunsari, and Dang

The government has announced plans to launch petroleum exploration activities in the districts of Palpa, Sunsari, and Dang.

While presenting the budget for Fiscal Year 2025/26 on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel stated that qualified international experts will be engaged to carry out the exploration and feasibility studies, including assessments of rare earth metals in these areas.

Minister Paudel further revealed that a national conference will be convened, bringing together specialists to evaluate the potential for mineral resource exploration, production, and commercialization across Nepal.
