Petrol dearer by Rs 4 per litre

KATHMANDU, MAR 27: 

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) raised the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 4 per litre each on Tuesday.

Now, fuel consumers need to pay Rs 120 per litre of petrol and Rs 89 each per litre of diesel and kerosene.

The NOC has said that it was obliged to hike the prices to save the NOC from surging loss and to pay the dues to the Indian Oil Corporation.

“With the decision, the state-oil monopoly can make a profit of Rs 3 on a litre of petrol but it is still reeling under the loss of Rs 10 in Diesel,” said spokesperson of the corporation Mukunda Dhungel.

The prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and aviation fuel have been left unchanged however.
