Pandey elected FNCCI president

KATHMANDU:
Pradeep Jung Pandey has been elected as the new president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
In the elections held on Saturday, he defeated Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar to become the 16th president of FNCCI in the elections held on Saturday.
Pandey garnered 438 votes against Rajkarnikar's 416.
The election results for the post of president were announced after 1 am.
Results of other posts were announced earlier.
Dinesh Shrestha from Pandey’s panel has secured the position of vice president at the national level commodity association. Kishore Kumar Pradhan representing the same panel has been elected vice president from district/municipal chambers. On the other hand, Shekhar Golchha, who represents Rajkarnikar’ panel, has been elected the vice president from the associate category.
Regarding the district/municipal chambers election, both panels secured equal wins, seven each, out of 32 candidates.
The FNCCI's 48th annual general meeting conducted elections to choose a 61-member executive body at the Nepal Academy in the Capital.
The newly elected committee will work for next three years leading the umbrella organisation of Nepal's private business sector.
