One million tourists visit Nepal in 11 months

To create a historic record Nepal saw the arrival of one million tourists in the last 11 months of the current year. 
Nepal Tourism Board said 1,001,930 people from foreign countries visited Nepal till November from the beginning of this year. It is the increase by 17 per cent as compared to the same period last year. 


Most of the tourists visiting Nepal are from India, while the second country sending visitors is China. 

Likewise, 11,921 and 12,944 Chinese tourists visited Nepal in October and November respectively. The number of total Chinese visitors in January-November period reached to 134,362. Similarly, the visitors from Thailand, Japanand S
Executive Director at Nepal Tourism Board, Dipak Raj Joshi, said that it was historic indeed that Nepal was able to bring in one million tourists in the 11 months of this year. It has encouraged tourism, he observed. The countries following China is the US in sending the number of tourists followed by the UK.
