Omoda 5 EV Livestream Unveils Futuristic Flagship Variant by Chery International in Nepal
Chery International is gearing up to launch its flagship variant, Omoda 5 EV, in Nepal. To provide an exclusive glimpse of this innovative electric vehicle, the China team of Omoda conducted a dedicated online livestream event on October 9, 2023.
Hosted by Lillian Xiong, CMO of Omoda, and Caypan, Managing Director of Omoda, the livestream event took place in China, with distinguished guests from the Sharda Group and media in attendance through online livestream.
Chery International has made significant strides in the global automotive industry, with an export volume exceeding 3 million units. The brand represents a modern and fashionable lifestyle, embodying a strong sense of technology. Omoda, under the tagline "Cross," conveys a fashion-forward, high-tech, and green image, catering to a discerning audience.
The Omoda 5 EV boasts a revolutionary design language, aptly named "Light of Movement." Its exterior features a sporty "X" shaped front face, optimized for wind resistance, and dynamic body lines that maintain a perfect balance. The rear of the vehicle exhibits an upturned design, projecting a highly dynamic stance.
One of the key highlights of Omoda 5 EV is its smart lightweight battery, enhancing battery life and addressing mileage anxiety through V2L technology. Equipped with an 8155 Qualcomm smart chip, 16 types of ADAS, Sony speakers, assisted driving, the Omoda 5 EV brings the future closer to consumers.
The vehicle will be available in two battery options: a long range variant with a 61 kWh battery, to be launched first, followed by a short range variant with a 40 kWh battery. Additionally, motor capacity options will also be offered, starting with a motor capacity less than 100 kW, with the possibility of larger motor options based on consumer demand.
In the competitive landscape, the Omoda 5 EV is set to rival the BYD globally and particularly in Nepal.
To ensure a seamless ownership experience, Chery International plans to expand its infrastructure and service network in Nepal. Within three months of the Omoda 5 EV launch, the company aims to establish 8-10 service outlets and infrastructure across the nation. The vehicle has been optimized for Nepali landscapes and roads, boasting a suitable ground clearance for the region.
