With Office 365, enterprises and sever message block (SMB's) will have the flexibility of running their applications on the cloud without physical servers, according to officials of Microsoft.
"At Microsoft, we work hard to transform organizations and individuals through our family of devices and services. In line with this, we are pleased to officially launch Office 365, a full cloud service, here addressing the need of productivity on the go," Michelle Simmons, general manager, emerging markets, Microsoft Asia Pacific, said.
Office 365 facilitates online and offline access and enables working from anywhere, anytime across all devices including smartphones, on iOS and Android, with unlimited storage with One Drive. It also provides mailbox with 50 GB storage.
Though Internet speed is low and power cut is a problem, Office 365 is suitable for Nepal, Byron Rader, GM, Office Division, Microsoft Asia Pacific, said. "One can work offline and store the information in the cloud when they are connected to the Internet," he added.
According to Rader, Office 365 delivers optimal benefits of cloud such as productivity, familiarity, security, social collaboration and IT control.
With Office 365, people can connect with others and share data to get things done regardless of time or location. With tools like Lync, Exchange and SharePoint, online meetings, video conferencing and digital note-taking are possible, enabling employees to work as one to accomplish their tasks faster and easier, according to Microsoft officials.
Office 365 is available as a monthly subscription. It is available for businesses at US$ 5 per month. It is provided free of cost to qualified educational institutions. Once can use the software in five different devices.
