NTC saves the Day

The secondary market today also continued its rally as the benchmark index added 0.53 or 0.53% point in its tally. Though the market increased, it was not a smooth sailing for the index as towards the end of second hour the market plummeted down near to 415 level. With the improvement in the scrip of NTC , the local bourse was able to bounce to the today’s closing level of 417.39 level.
Today the news of dividend approval of Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL) by Nepal Rastra Bank helped the company’s scrip to gain Rs 3. The BOD of company had proposed 15% cash dividend and 10% bonus Share to its shareholder, now the 96th BOD meeting has decided to present the proposal to Upcoming AGM going to be held on 2069/07/03.Similarly, Nerudhe Laghu Bitta Bikash Bank Ltd (NLBBL) has proposed to distribute 15% bonus share and 10.79% cash dividend to its shareholder. However the news couldn’t create a positive impact today as the scrip lost Rs 23 at the end of the day. In overall, Development sector couldn’t gain any points as it came down by 1.13 or 0.46% points.
Other fallers in sector today were, Banking, Insurance and Manufacturing with 0.57 or 0.15% , 7.11 or 1.01% and 0.98 or 0.13% points respectively. The fall in the Manufacturing was caused by Uniliver Nepal Ltd.(UNL) as it fell by Rs 19. Similarly in Banking, the drop in the price of Nabil Bank Ltd (NBL) whose book closure is tomorrow, by Rs 17 along with decrease in the scrip of Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI) by Rs 14 dragged the sector down. Whereas Insurance sector which was the highest gainer among the sector yesterday, today became the highest loser. The skid in the sector came with the fall in the price of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 106.
As for the gainers in the sector, Hydro sector added the most as it incline by 19.01 or 2.25%. The improvement in the scrip of Chilime Hydro Power Co (CHCL) by Rs 28 companied by the gain of Butwal Power Co. Ltd (BPCL) of Rs 8 aided in the Hydro sector growth today. Similarly, Hotels also jumped by 6.4 or 1.15% with the help from Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) as it added Rs 5. Likewise, Finance and Others added 0.34 or 0.13% and 3.53 or 0.48% respectively.
Today among 94 scrips traded, 44 scrips increased, 16 remain intact and 34 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs 155, with Rs 11 or 7.64%. Whereas, Shangrila Development Bank Ltd. (SADBL), closed at Rs 124, was the Top Loser with Rs 13 or 9.49.
In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL), closed at Rs 106, topped with 79,261 units worth Rs 8,218,890 via 4 transactions. All the four transaction were done between Broker no 7 (J.F. Securities Company Pvt. Limited) and Broker No 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) in which Broker No 32 was buyer and Broker 7 was seller.
The total turnover today was 61,173,590 which is comparatively Rs 2,211,613 or 3.75% higher than prior trading session. Overall 239,714 units of shares were traded via 962 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 395,228.43 Millions.
