NTC DRAGS NEPSE BELOW 500 LEVELS

Following the yesterday’s breach over 500 levels, the market index today hovered over the yesterday’s closing level for the first hour. Then, subsequently after the trade of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) , Rs 10 below its prior level, the local bourse plunge near to the 499 level and failed to resuscitate leading into gradual decline in the remaining session to close at 498.78 levels with a loss of 1.45 points.

The decline in the NTC by Rs 9 caused the Others sector to tumble by hefty 10.57 points. Similarly, two of the Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking and Development also stumbled by 0.48 and 0.27 points respectively. As for Finance, it made a gain of 0.77 points. Likewise, Hotels sector today surged by 2.26 points, Insurance ascended by 2.85 points and Hydro boosted up by 1.14 points.

Overall there were trade of 82 scrips among which 28 scrips increased 14 remained intact and 40 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 159, with Rs 14 or 9.66% gain. Whereas, Malika Bikash Bank Limited (MDBL), closed at Rs 110, was the worst performer with Rs 10 or 8.33% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1) , closed at Rs 10.94, topped with 68,620 units. In terms of ordinary scrips, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CTBNL), closed at Rs 143, topped with 41493 units. In case of turnover , Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1145, topped with 14,625 units Rs 16,700,340 via 50 transactions; in which Broker no 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt.Ltd) was the most active Broker with 16.65% stand alone dealing of the CHCL, tallying 4,875 units worth Rs 5,562,775 via 2 transactions.

Altogether there were trade of 280,778 units of share via 1,114 transactions worth Rs 75,048,634; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 494,290.68 Millions.
