The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with UNDP Nepal, has introduced a free online course titled ‘Travel Specialist – Basic Level’ to enhance the skills and knowledge of tourism professionals.

The course was officially launched by Tourism Minister Bedu Prasad Pandey during the Himalayan Travel Mart in Kathmandu. It targets guides, travel agents, tour operators, trekking companies, and tourism students, aiming to strengthen service quality and promote sustainable, inclusive tourism.

Developed under NTB’s Sustainable Tourism Project, the course covers Nepal’s key tourism offerings, sustainable practices, and customer service. As part of the government’s 'Tourism Decade' vision, the initiative aims to train 5,000 individuals and create 2,500 jobs by 2028, with a focus on supporting women and marginalized communities.
