NT to open 10 customer experience centers

Are you tired of slow ADSL Internet speed? Is high dropped-call rate pestering you? If yes, then there is good news for you. Nepal Telecom (NT) is establishing Customer Experience Center (CEC) at different parts of the country to solve customers´ problem and let them experience all their service before they purchase them.

NT is opening 10 CEC´s in major cities of the country. In Kathmandu, it will have such centers in Bhadrakali and Pulchowk. Similarly, NT is opening CECs in Biratnagar, Pokhara, Hetauda, Bharatpur, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi, Janakpur and Butwal. The centers are expected to be operational within a year.

At the centers, customers can experience different provided by NT such as ADSL, EVDO, CDMA, mobile telephony, mobile data, and landline, among others.

"At the centers, customers can use the service, check the quality and then decide which service appropriate for them," Anup Ranjan Bhattarai, managing director of NT, said.

NT will provide free Wi-Fi at the centers.

Along to listening to complaints filed directly at the center, NT will also entertain complaints filed through email, chat, social networking sites, fax and SMS, among others.

Currently, NT is receiving complaints from landline through 198 and on mobile service from 1498. It has also been providing Interactive Voice Response (IVR) service to register complaints.

"For this, we are spending Rs 500,000 to Rs 3 million depending on the place and the area that the centers cover," said Bhattarai, adding that the design of centers has already been finalized.

As per the design, most of the materials required to build CECs has to be imported. "Hence, it will take few months to being construction," added Bhattarai.

Nepal Telecom has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM). As per the agreement, MBA graduates from KUSOM will intern at the CEC counters.

"We signed agreement with KUSOM as we want the fresh graduates to learn various practical aspects of dealing with customers.

The management graduates will benefit from what they learn during the internship," Bhattarai said, adding that the agreement will benefit both NT and KUSOM.
