Nepal Telecom (NT) has expedited the process of appointing consultant for inducting a strategic partner.

It has shortlisted six companies and asked them to submit Request for Proposal (RFP) document. The state-owned telecom operator will appoint a consultant after evaluating the RFP documents.

NT had announced global tender for consultant few months ago. The consultant will help NT in finding a capable strategic partner by studying due diligence audit (DDA) report of NT and tender documents.

NT has shortlisted Ernst &Young, LLP Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, KPMG Advisory Service, and Analysis Mass on India from India, Detecon International GmbH from Germany and Roland Berger strategy Consultants from Singapore.

Anup Ranjan Bhattarai, managing director of NT, said six companies have been shorlisted from eight applicants. “These companies will have to submit RFP document. We will select the best company after studying the document,” he added.

NT has been preparing to induct a strategic partner for the last four years. It will offer 30 percent stake to the partner.
