NT donates Rs 20 mln to PM's disaster relief fund
KATHMANDU:
The Nepal Telecom has donated Rs 20 million to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, on Friday.
Secretary of Ministry of Information and Communciatons Sunil Bahadur Malla, who also chairs the Nepal Telecom, handed over the cheque to the Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at a meeting convened at the latter's residence in Baluwatar this morning.
Minister for Information and Communication Dr Minendra Rijal and other office bearers of the NT were also present in the meeting.
According to Acting Executive Director of the NT Buddhi Prasad Acharya, the amount was collected from Telecom staff, members of the operation committee and the Telecom's fund.
On the occasion, PM Koirala thanked Nepal Telecom for its effort to help the victims in need. According to him, the amount will be regulated throughout the country to provide relief assistance to those victimised by flood, landslide and other natural disasters this year.
Chitwan District Court gives Rs 25,300
Meanwhile, Chitwan District Court also provided Rs 25,300 to the Prime Minister's disaster relief fund on Friday.
In a statement issued today, the District Court expressed its condolences to those deceased in landslides and flood across the country.
