In response to the growing tensions between Israel and Iran, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has intensified efforts to assess the safety of Nepali nationals in Israel and prepare for potential evacuation operations.

During a virtual interaction held on Wednesday evening, NRNA officials engaged with Nepal’s Ambassador to Israel, Dhan Prasad Poudel, and other key stakeholders to evaluate the on-ground situation and explore necessary measures.

NRNA Israel Chapter President Shree Krishna Bhandari described the current conflict as more critical than past wars, urging all Nepalis to follow official safety protocols strictly. He also advised against sharing misinformation or negative content on social media platforms that could worsen panic.

General Secretary of NRNA Israel, Ali Mohammad Miya, stressed the importance of complying with Israeli security measures. He noted that while public services such as transportation and markets remain operational, the situation remains highly unpredictable, requiring constant vigilance.

Ambassador Poudel advised Nepalis to remain inside designated shelters and continue adhering to government-issued safety guidelines. Although there have been no formal mass evacuation requests, he confirmed that steps have been taken for the evacuation of a doctor and the Mayor of Biratnagar. He added that some undocumented Nepalis have shown interest in returning to Nepal.

The embassy has encouraged all those willing to return to complete the evacuation form issued by Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate a smooth process.

Despite the ongoing crisis, many Nepalis working in Israel have expressed a preference to stay, citing employment and stability. NRNA central leadership, including General Secretary Gauri Raj Joshi, Vice President Rojina Pradhan Rai, and Spokesperson Phanindra Pant, assured continued support and urged everyone to prioritize safety.

To further assist the Nepali community, NRNA CEO Rajendra Kumar Raut announced that a dedicated hotline service would be launched on Thursday via the NRNA Secretariat, providing real-time assistance and information for Nepalis in Israel.
