NOC agrees to adjust price to earlier price rate

KATHMANDU, FEB 16:

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has agreed to fix the LP gas price at Rs. 1,470 per cylinder.

At the talks held between the NOC and different 11 student organization representatives, today, the NOC was positive for keeping earlier price intact after they stuck to their stance for withdrawing the NOC decision of increasing the price at 2,130 instead of just postponing the decision.

The Officiating Executive Director of the NOC, and Nepal Students Union Chairman Ranjeet Karna and Spokesperson UP Lamichhane, ALL Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU) Chairman Madhav Dhungel, and others were participating in the meeting.

They also decided to sit for the next round of meeting to discuss on students' discount, leakage in the NOC, and dual price determination, and other issues once the NOC Board withdraws the price that was postponed recently.

The government has hiked the price of the LP gas and fixed Rs. 2,100 from Rs. 1,470 but postponed the decision after the protest from everywhere. However, the government had decided to provide the subsidy of Rs. 550 from Bank of Kathmandu.
