NIT to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU,JUNE 18: 

Hong Kong-based NIT Holdings is planning to operate a domestic and international airlines from Nepal while the number of international airlines flying to the country has been growing and the national flag carrier is on the verge of collapse. 

Initially, the company will invest around $ 10 million in the airline project.

NIT Holdings is a company specialised in financial management services in the private sector. It has been investing in Malaysia, Ghana, Indonesia, China and other countries. Its investment across the globe stands at over $ 76 billion. 

It has plans to invest around $ 1 billion in Nepal at present and increase the investment to $ 10 billion over a period of time, said representative of NIT Holdings for Nepal Jay H Kim. 

Beside airlines, NIT will also invest in financial institutions, hydropower, telecommunication, airport construction and other big infrastructure projects.
