NICCI holds discussion with tax officials

KATHMANDU,May 19: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) held discussion with tax officials on Monday in a bid to provide suggestions for the upcoming budget.

NICCI has been pushing for amendments to Income Tax Act, Value Added Tax Act and Excise Act, among others. Speaking at the program, Tanka Mani Sharma, director general of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), said the department would forward suggestions to the concerned government agencies. He also informed that IRD has established grievances hearing mechanism and administrative review mechanism to facilitate taxpayers.
