NIBL starts branchless banking in Rupandehi

Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) on Thursday launched NIBL branchless banking service from Marchawar, Majhgawa, Rupandehi. The bank aims to establish a well secured countrywide agent network with a presence in all 75 districts.
NIBL branchless banking services is secured as it incorporates two-factor authentication (debit card and finger print mandatory) besides providing a very easy mechanism and process to conduct financial transactions and inquiries.
NIBL branchless banking is carried out through bank appointed business correspondents who have been selected following an exhaustive agent due diligence (ADD) exercise.
“Branchless banking aids in encapsulating the local population into the financial mainstream by extending banking outreach and creating ease of access to the unbanked and under-banked population segments,” the bank said in a statement. Branchless banking through Biometric POS and Debit Card is well equipped to provide most of the retail banking services including cash deposit (self and third party) and withdrawal, fund transfers, bill payments and purchase of recharge PINs.
“Security, reliability and ease of access are paramount to branchless banking, and all these have been properly addressed to provide an enhanced customer experience in a much secured environment,” said the bank.
Meanwhile, NIBL branchless banking customers can also make use of the NIBL’s extensive ATM and POS network (Visa and NPN network) with the provided Visa debit cards, thereby getting increased access to financial service in Nepal and India. Branchless banking customers can also obtain NIBL Mobile Banking and eBanking services for free.
As of now, NIBL has over 500,000 customers being serviced from 41 branches and 68 NIBL ATMs. The bank has over 465,000 Visa debit card holders who can also register for NIBL branchless banking.
