NEW PROVISION IMPACTS NEPSE

The new provision brought by the SEBON to offload the promoter shares directly through the secondary market made a negative impacted on the market today. With this provision, the floatation of the ordinary scrips in the market will increase resulting in the higher supply. This provision in the current scenario is not fruitful for the market like ours where there is an absence of market maker. The local bourse today plummeted by 5.38 points to close at 513.68 levels.
Altogether there were trade of seven sectors today, among which Hotels surged by 1.13 points and Manufacturing soared by 9.81 points. While, Banking sector suffered a hefty blow as it made a decline of 8.72 points. Similarly, Development and Finance also tumbled by 0.27 and 0.15 points respectively. Likewise, Hydro also decreased by huge margin today as it fell by 12.25 points. As for Insurance, it derailed by 4 points.
Overall there were trade of 76 scrips among which 20 scrips increased 7 remained intact and 49 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), closed at Rs 62, with Rs 5 or 8.77% gain. Whereas, Fewa Finance Co. Ltd. Promoter Share (FFCLPO), closed at Rs 187, was the worst performer with Rs 28 or 13.02% loss.
Among the ordinary shares trading above par, Diprox Development Bank (DDBL), closed at Rs 340, was the top gainer with Rs 24 or 7.59% whereas City Development Bank Limited (CDBL), closed at Rs 153, was the top loser with 13 or 7.83%.
In case of the highest shares traded and turnover among ordinary shares, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1127, topped with 28063 units worth Rs 31,453,708 via 39 transactions; in which Broker no 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active Broker with 46.29% stand alone dealing of CHCL, tallying 13,000 units worth Rs 14,560,000 via 4 transactions which includes one matching of 4,000 units worth Rs 4,480,000.
Altogether there were trades of 260,981 units of shares via 1,113 transactions worth Rs 105,701,657; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 498,882.12 Millions
